On Monday, February 6, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey’s southern Gaziantep Province and northern Syria. The earthquake is estimated to be the strongest to hit the area in over 100 years. At the time of writing, death toll is now nearly 37,000. It is estimated that over 13 million people have been affected (source: Reuters).

KBF CANADA is joining our Myriad alliance partners KBFUS, KBF Europe and Give2Asia to raise earthquake relief and recovery funds for Turkey and Syria.
Thousands of people are in need of food and shelter, and other anticipated needs include clean water, medicine, health services, and more. More specific numbers of those in need will become clear in the coming days, including the needs of refugee populations from conflicts happening inside of Syria.

Donations received by KBF CANADA will go to help communities in Turkey and Syria through humanitarian relief projects with on-the-ground organizations, including the International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation and Syria Relief and Development.

The rapidly evolving nature of the situation on the ground requires a responsive and agile response.
Contributions will be distributed to projects implemented by diligently selected and trusted organizations that are actively responding to the most pressing needs on the ground.

We are committed to transparency and the integrity of our donors and will regularly update this page on how and where your donations are being used. All contributions are eligible for a donation receipt for tax purposes in Canada.
