Who are we?

Our mission: to promote, enable and implement international charitable projects

KBF FOUNDATION CANADA was established at the initiative of the Brussels-based King Baudouin Foundation to allow Canadian donors to contribute to charitable projects spearheaded by KBF CANADA, while sharing the same values upheld by the King Baudouin Foundation: integrity, transparency, pluralism and independence, respect for diversity and promotion of solidarity.

KBF CANADA is incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act and which meets the registration requirements of the Income Tax Act as a charitable organization. As such, KBF CANADA is authorized to issue to its donors official receipts for tax purposes in Canada.

KBF CANADA has a mission to enable thoughtful and effective donations for international charitable projects. In collaboration with the King Baudouin Foundation, that developed an exceptional international network with partners in a number of countries, KBF CANADA manages charitable projects in various countries.

We work with individuals, families, corporations, and foundations, to support their favourite causes anywhere in the world. We craft personalized solutions for one-time gifts or recurring donations through donor‑advised funds.

In addition to the work we do with donors, we work with American, European, African and Asian organizations with a view to implementing charitable projects.

The way in which projects are carried out and donations are spent is tightly controlled and monitored, and is governed by two priorities:

  • have a clear and concrete impact, measured using success indicators;
  • minimize management fees as much as possible: minimum 95% of the money raised for the projects goes directly to the charitable activities.

Flexible and impact-oriented. Effective and reliable. This is KBF CANADA.

We are committed to:

  • increasing the impact of donations;
  • being professional and effective;
  • cultivating excellence, creativity, and flexibility.

Our values are the following ones: independence, integrity and transparency, diversity and international solidarity.

KBF CANADA is member of Philanthropic Foundations Canada (PFC) and CAGP (Canadian Association of Gift Planners).

We work with you to create a tailor-made approach to support the causes that are important to you and your family – bringing your ‘story’ to life and helping to change lives.  What is Important to You? What is your personal Story?
