Goal

The goal of the Fund is to :

  • Enhance the public’s appreciation of classical music by supporting the artistic and educational programming that takes place at the Verbier Festival
  • Provide the opportunity for aspiring musicians to take part in the Verbier Festival’s renowned artist training programmes

Activities

  • Support the artistic programming at the Verbier Festival, which includes more than 60 mainstage classical music performances and 200 free and accessible concerts and events dedicated to cultural engagement and education.
  • Support three artist training programmes at the Verbier Festival for more than 200 young musicians aged 15 to 35, including an Academy for soloists, singers and conductors, and two training orchestras.
    • Training includes coaching and mentorship through masterclasses and rehearsals with distinguished teachers, performers and conductors as well as the opportunity for numerous public performances.

In 2019, thanks to the support of generous donors, the Foundation financed partially the Academy’s Conducting Programme which offered a stepping stone to the following emerging conductors:

  • Nicolas Ellis, Canada | Age 27
  • Lucie Leguay, France | Age 28
  • Sergey Neller, Germany / Russia | Age 32
  • Anna Rakitina, Russia | Age 30
  • Maximilian Haberstock, Germany | Age 14
